Dear Go comrades. Please welcome to 8th Go Cup of Consul general of Japan in Saint-Petersburg. Go Cup of Сonsul general of Japan in Saint-Petersburg is a part of Japanese culture festival. We have organized it 7 times in a row from 2004 with support and good colaboration with Japanese consulate in St-Petersburg. From 2008 Cup of Consul of Japan became one of the best and strongest tournaments in Russia.

Tournament will be held at 25th-27th of March in «Saint-Petersburg» hotel, Pirogovskaya enbankment, bld. 5/2
Tournament rules
Tournament will be played in two leagues.
League A includes 16 participants with highest rating. All other participants plays in league B.
League A tournament rules: Swiss system 6 rounds, time control 60 min+ 3×30 sec Japanese style byo-yomi.
League B tournament rules: McMahon system 6 rounds, time control 60 min+ 3×30 sec Japanese style byo-yomi.
In both leagues komi is 6 1/2 pts, color definition is nigiri. In case of opponent’s delay, player has right of colour choice; player, who delays more than 30 min, lose by time.

Tournament fee, accomodation and lunches
Tournament fee: 500 RR (12.5EUR) for foreign citizens.
Accomodation: league A players — 2 nights free (25th, 26th of March), extra nights 750 RR (18.75 EUR); breakfast included.
League B 1 dan and higher players — 2 nights 500 RR (12.5 EUR), extra nights 750 RR (18.75 EUR); breakfast included.
Lunches: you can purchase lunch at weekend. We can organize lunches in chinese restaurant and in russian bistro. Both way has cost about 4.5-5 EUR. Please, if you want to purchase lunch, mark it in a registration form.
Visa: Organizing commeettee will send you invitation, if you need. Please, note, that in accordance with Article 6, part 3, paragraph (g) of Agreement between the European Community and the Russian Federation on the facilitation of the issuance of visas
members of youth sport competitions and accompanying persons (as ones as: coach, doctor, sport manager, massage therapist, team doctor, sport club director) can get Russian visa without visa fee.
All you need is a letter from Russian Go Federation about your personal invitations to youth sport event. This letter you will add to standard visa documents set, and your Russian visa will be free. You must be younger than 30 (in this case you are «young» in accordance with Russian laws).
